Cambridge First Certificate & Advanced Examination Preparation Courses
The FCE (Cambridge First Certificate in English) and the CAE (Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English) are two very well known and internationally recognised English language examinations which are popular with MLS students.
Examinations usually available in December, March and June.
1.03 FCE PREPARATION
Course description
This is typically a 12 week course, aimed at preparing students for the Cambridge First Certificate Examination, which is widely recognised in commerce, industry and higher education.
Course Content
Students receive preparation in the skills and items required for the five papers involved. These are:
Reading Reading for gist, main points, specific information, text structure, and deduction of meaning from context
Writing Writing letters, articles, reports, compositions or a task based on a set text.
Use of English Consolidating and improving knowledge and use of the grammar and vocabulary of the language.
Listening Understanding gist, specific information and deduction of meaning from context
Speaking Use of grammar and vocabulary in oral communication, improvement in pronunciation and strategies for successful task achievement.
